About Us

Mission Statement

The Art For Thought foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 exhibition program, dedicated to providing a platform generating and stimulating socially conscious analysis and dialogue.

Our History

Aristotle once wrote, “The soul never thinks without an image”, This statement resonated with us and succinctly embodied the power and ability that art has to unite, ignite passion and raise awareness to stimulate consciousness. This single statement acted as the catalyst for the creation of an organization that fosters, promotes, appreciates and creates socially conscious dialogue around contemporary art.

Art For Thought came to fruition in 2015 by a collaborative group of likeminded individuals, in order to create a platform of socially conscious art exhibitions and special programs. In mid-2016, AFT launched its inaugural exhibition and corresponding catalog “We Are What We Eat” at one of the highest platforms for global and social awareness: the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The “We Are What We Eat” exhibition was developed in conjunction with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2, to highlight the need for global food security through sustainable agricultural practices, and improved nutrition through heightened awareness and education.

What we do

We conduct research on social issues, and conceive artistic projects to raise awareness, stimulate consciousness, raise the level of discourse, and deepen understandings of social issues

We aim to inspire movements harnessing the potential of art and initiating peaceful reflections on social-political issues.
